How do i set the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) to use/boost idle bandwidth when my computer is idle but is something downloading?
Sorry if its in the wrong forum, redirect it if you can, but anyway i am trying to download something it gets to a certain percentage then stops. Even if i leave my comp idle for a few minutes nothing happens. When i was downloading Microsoft Visual C++ it had the same problems and nearly all the time when i quit the installation it told me i could set the BITS to use idle bandwidth, that's where i got this idea from. Could someone please help me. Thank you. Unfortunately enough i do use dial up internet, but that BITS works.

Hi, Can you post the message when the installation stopped and indicated to set the BITS? Does the issue occur when using high Internet Connection instead of dial up? At this stage, I suggest you try the following steps. 1. Click Start, right click Computer and choose Properties. 2. Click Device Manager. 3. Navigate to the modem, right click it and choose Properties. 4. Choose Power Management tab. 5. Please uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. 6. Restart the computer and test this issue again. If the issue persists, please capture the error message and upload it. Thanks, Novak
