Which Anti-Virus is that. Is it Forefront or Microsoft Security Essentials.You could turn off by using setting unless there is a policy apply by admin that prevent turn it off.

I have Microsoft security Essentials.......I wanted to download Windows defender, but wa told I had to delete Windos client protection...how do I do that??

If you have Microsoft Security Essentials , you DON'T NEED Windows defender. Microsoft Security Essentials already have Windows Defender inside it.Microsoft Security Essentials is Spyware+Malware protection and Windows Defender is Spyware protection only. It is NOT a good idea to remove Anti-Spyware and Anti-Virus and just use Anti-Spyware. I recommend you to keep use Microsoft Security Essentials and DO NOT use Windows Defender.
