Generally speaking, if you are having problems with your current OS, then it is not the time to be performing any in-place upgrades. Get the problems fixed first, then upgrade if you want, but any problems you have now will usually migrate into the new OS and be harder to solve since you are not as familiar with it as you are with the old OS. If you are have Internet Explorer problems, I would advise posting in one of the IE groups or forums for a solution, then you can perform your upgrade. SC Tom

IE freezing issues are mostly caused by Addons/Toolbars. So open the IE options and disable all 3rd party addons/Toolbars. Do you still have freezes? Upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 is described in detail here: Upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 But you don't need to upgrade, fix the addons/toolbars. But if you are planning on doing an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, it's highly unlikely that it will help. In fact, the worst time to do an upgrade is when you are having problems; such an upgrade is more likely to worsen problems than to solve them. Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP
