Firstfoot, the only thing that is wrong with your Outloook Express, is, that you have set up the SEND and RECEIVE part (of Outlook Express's Mail options) wrong! That's right, wrong. And, the people to ask how to set it correctly,is........your ISP provider.Yes, they will 'walk you right through' the whole procedure.......so that you do get it RIGHT!And, I would suggest that you also get RID of Symantec Anti-virus. Replace it with Microsoft's Security Essentials! (Which a whole lot 'user-friendly' than Norton will ever be!) By the way, MSE......is FREE! If you have a legit OS!You migh even want to upgrade from IE 8....to IE 9 Beta. If that's possible with XP. (Just a thought for you to consider.)There may be nothing wrong with Outlook Express itself. Reason? It's that Symantec Anti-virus program telling you...that there is a problem with OE. And, the real problem is the Symantec program itself! You use it, it 'takes CONTROL...over everything! Your resources! The way you want to use your computer! I do mean 'EVERYTHING'!.The worse part about Symantec software, any software that is...............it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to remove...once it is in your computer. So, be duly warned, here.

I agree 100% regarding Symantec, but the OP's Inbox is corrupt.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
