How do I uninstall Windows7 Enterprise 90day trial and restore Windows XP Pro?
I downloaded and install Windows7 Enterprise 90 trial for my company so that I can test it out. Now that the trial is over I need to restore my computer back to Windows XP until my company is ready to purchase Windows7. I need some help in doing this, how do I do this?

Open cd rom drive, put in XP disk, boot computer press enter key to boot form CDinstall XP.Now i put more effort into the than you put in your post. Was it a clean install?? Did you format the drive on install..then...sorry data is gone (unless you got big bucks for data recovery)Do you have a windows.old folder?? If so there is hope. search here for windows.old if you have it.

He won't have windows.old folder since he had to do a custom install UNLESS he upgraded to Vista first or there's hope if he installed as a dual boot (which doesn't sound like he did). Did you happen to make a Ghost image of your xp machine? If not, then like Bubbapcguy said, data is toast. Did you back up your data before installing Win7? Sounds like you might be on a domain (maybe?) and you backed up your data to the server? Yep, I agree with Bubba, you didn't exactly give us a lot to work with you in answering your question.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. Yes I do have the Windows.old folder where all my info from Windows XP is. Sorry I figured that it was already implied that I had to do a clean install going from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7, but yes I did a clean install. The computer that I'm using came with Windows XP Pro already on it so I don't have the disk for the Windows XP OS. I do however have the disk from Dell that will put my computer back to factory settings. Will this disk do the same thing? Can I put this disk back in and tell it to boot from the disk and be able to run Windows XP again with all my info that is already on the hard drive from the last XP install? Or am I going to have to do a clean install of Windows XP and replace all my data?

If you have the windows.old folder you did custom install which is good. clean install means CLEAN as wiped clean, no data. The dell recovery cd by default will delete the data on the drive.so the best bet is to backup what you need to a remote drive and restore with the cd and reinstall.I do not use the dell recovery cd's unless I am wiping and loading, there may be a way to enter the recover mode from it. IF you can find someone with full install cd to use you can restore the old XP install using the link above.

Clean Install means it is a clean system with a backup folder named windows.old. If you delete that folder it will be a totally clean system. As the backup folder still exists, please refer the steps I provided above to see if we can back to earlier system:How to restore a Windows 7-based computer to a previous Windows installation by using the Windows.old folderhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/971760

For washington, please use the DELL disks and insert disk # 1 into the drive. Make sure you can boot from DVD/CD drive by configuring your BIOS by selecting the BIOS setup key during startup and restart your computer. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

If you want to get rid of it (and everything else on the drive), simply format the drive. Ken Blake

Someone could write one I suppose, that works from another partition with dialogs "click next to remove windows 7" etc. No one has as of yet. No one will.
