How do I restore a Hybrid ?
Got a Dell Duo Hybrid convertable, which I really like, but due to updates, (which i did know they were probably going to mess it up, which they did).
Heres the low down, Dell Duo w/ dock, I have a portable dvd drive hooked to the dock, no issues there that I know of.
I have a ION turntable hooked to the dock, which been working perfect, heres were the problem start.
I nolonger enable auto updates, to many inttrupts happen, but I do look for updates. ( note, I use windows for the ION, I didnot install the from the CD that came withit).
The dock uses SRS sound , and windows installed default drivers for the ION, wich work excelent.
( I have been ussing the ION for many months).
So I check in to Windows update, there was almost 30 updates that demanded attention. So against my better judgment, I let down load.
Now, here is were I am stuck, I lost my ION, my sound is all yabboood.
Windows wont even recognize the ION being there. It Still show in speaker as Default codec, which is normal, but can play, no sound, no error.
Now to my real ?,
I have had this Dou for over a yr, and it has been doing backup on my network for the duration, but as I am finding out, I cannot restore the system,( I have the system disk, and recovery disk).
So I have tryed every way that I would normally do a restore, but it is failling.
I have tried Widow sytem recovery, from within Windows, and it does some restore, for what I dont know, my sytem is not restored.
So I put the recovery disk in, and it starts, but I am left with a black screen, nothing goes forward.(note, out of the dock with the portable drive hooked, no recognition happens, Window starts normal).
So I put it in the dock, and try the recovery disk, or the system disk, and it doest start, but now I am stuck at "Error, 0x4001100200001012.
And it is stuck there, I need to be able to restore the DUO from backup.
And for info, the DUO is Multi Touch, a covertible netbook, note book, it will do full laptop duties, plus convert to a note pad.
Any more info you need, ask away, I will gladly respond.

Hi ,
If you can start Windows, start your computer. When you see the "Please select the operating system to start" message, press the F8 key when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent
settings that worked), and then press ENTER. See if this helps.
Then please try to run sfc /scannow to see if there is any system file corruption.

and see if there is any error.
Besides, please reinstall the latest driver for the ION. See if it helps.
If you want to perform a system recovery using the recovery disk by your hardware vendor, please contact your hardware vendor for support.
Can you boot in Windows Recovery Environment using a Full Windows 7 installation DVD? Thanks.
