How do I remove Hotfix.exe virus?
I haven't downloaded anything recently, nor have I opened any risky e-mails. Today in the middle of an MSN chat, a pop-up came up claiming that I had a trojan. I of course closed the pop-up knowing it was most likely spyware trying to mask itself as an anti-virus. I then noticed a new program on my desktop. Think Point. My PC Froze and I was forced to restart it. Now it starts up whenever I start my PC including in safe mode. I can't delete it because it's always in use... I can't open my task manager to end the process because the program blocks it. Please tell me how I can remove this virus from my hard drive. I have NO idea where it came from and it's caused me nothing but grief...Thank you very much2 people need an answerI do too

Try above solution and see what will happen, you may also follow solution from Microsoft Malware Protection Center, to make it easier, I will copy the solution here:Win32/FakePAV ThinkPoint variant may modify the computer to stop the affected user from accessing the Desktop, Start Menu and Task Bar. The following steps outline how to disable the rogue, so that the affected user can run a quick-scan to remove the threat.Click Settings on the ThinkPoint menu tab. Check Allow unprotected startup.Click Save settings. Result: You should now be able to close the rogue’s window and Windows Explorer will run.Open a command prompt. To do this on Windows XP, click onStart>Run and type "cmd.exe" (without the quotes). To do this on Windows Vista and Windows 7, click on the Windows icon>Runand type "cmd.exe" (without the quotes).Kill 'hotfix.exe' by typing following command:taskkill /IM hotfix.exeLaunch Microsoft Security Essentials and run a quick scan.
