How do I recover a document deleted during System Restore?
I am running Windows 7, 64 bit and accidentally installed the wrong application from Gigabyte to manage my motherboard which locked up my machine completely. So, I chose the Recover my System option from a boot menu and restored my computer to the
state it was in before installing the wrong software.
Worked like a charm with one exception: a single document that I had been working on for months was deleted. It disappeared from my Documents folder. There is no trace of it except in the Windows Task Bar. When I click on the running application icon in
my taskbar, I see, clear as day, the document that I was using. Trying to open it I get the error that it can't be found. An exhaustive search of the hard drives turned up 0 results. I have run several file recovery programs, no luck.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
This is not expected. You ca browse the VHD file of the image backup and see if you can find the document in the VHD.
You can refer to the section extracting from system image
http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2009/11/12/recovering-your-files-in-windows-7.aspx
If you are lucky, any of your previous snapshots might be lying around, you can browse the folder and check for any previous versions and can recover the deleted folder.
