How do I permenantly fix classpnp.sys after successful login?
Hi everyone, I got caught by the the classphp.sys, safe mood, blank screen loop. I tried numerous ways of fixing it, given that I couldn't access my Windows 7 CD, I found the following worked: I used the Startup repair which seemed to land me on a blank screen after the white "loading file" bar. I figured I would try anything so I left it running with the power plugged in while I went to work. 12hours later, the startup repair had actually loaded and offered the "restore option" which I did, and I managed to login. Strangely, my Touchpad wasn't working and I couldn't reset it. A plugged in mouse worked though, so i immediately backed up all my files. I was even able to restart the computer a number of times without issues. I turned off my computer and started it again, got caught in the same loop. Another 12 hour Startup repair later I have logged back in to post this message! My question to anyone out there is, is there a permanent fix for the problem that I can do whilst logged in? I'm not really a tech guy so you'll have to talk me through it slowly! I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium with Office, and I'm on an HP Pavillion DV6-6027TX Thanks for any help! Pete

What do you think is the result of 12 hours of fixing? I would give a try to in-place upgrade. You need installation DVD. Regards Milos
