How do I make printing more reliable on a ten computer hybrid system?
I work on a workgroup with ten computers. This is a hybrid system with a Pavilion, 3 newer Dell's, an older Dell, and even older Dell, 3 Gateway's and Compaq machine. There is one Vista machince and the rest XP. The printer is connected locally to the fastest machine one of the Gateway's. I run into a problem every few days of print jobs getting hung up in the queue. The print job spools but will not print. I have to then clear the print queue by either re-starting the networked computer. If that doesn't work I disconnect the data cable and the power cord from the printer and reset the print queue that way. I am unable to clear the print queues on the remote machices because the mesage access denied comes up.1 person got this answerI do too

Hi Bob, Thanks for posting. What size is the document that is hanging in the print queue? Also when this happens you may want to try to restart the spooler service on the remote machine. Step 1Click "Start"Step 2Click "Run"Step 3Type in "services.msc"Step 4Click OKStep 5Find Print Spooler in the list of servicesStep 6Click "Stop"Step 7Once the service has stopped, restart it by clicking on "StartAdditionally you can try loading the drivers on the local machines.
