How do I get the Open added to the context menu when selecting mixed Office documents?
Some employees who have had their Windows XP/Office 2003 and WindowsXP/Office 2007 workstations replaced with Windows 7/Office 2007 workstations have reported they can no longer select a group of Office files of multiple file types - in this case two docs and an xls and then right click and select Open from the context menu. On the 7/2007 system, there is no Open on the menu at all. The default is usually a 3rd party action like "combine into a PDF" or "scan with Trend Micro". I don't have a barebones system to check with but getting rid of all the 3rd party menu items just leaves me with Always Available Offline. I get similar results on our Windows 2008 R2 remote desktop server vs our Windows 2003 remote desktop server. The dimished usability of Windows 7 compared to Windows XP is impacting the employees' productivity and causing employees not yet upgraded to resist retiring their four-year-old computers for brand new ones. Is there a way to add the missing Open action back into the context menu when multiple files that are not of the same file type are selected?

Hi, Based on my experience, this problem is not only related to Office. Windows Explorer will not let you open files with different extensions, and this feature has been eliminated from Windows Vista age.
