How do I fix update installation failures after installing service pack 3?
I recently installed the service pack 3 (even though I was pretty sure I had already downloaded it, but windows update said I needed it) after I realized that my auto updates weren't automatically being downloaded and installed even though I had previously had them setup to do so. After I downloaded and installed the XP service pack 3, it wouldn't allow any other updates to install. I tried searching the FAQS for my problems and found nothing matching it. My machine runs ESET Antivirus. Could this be preventing it? If so, it hasn't given me any error messages. Additionally, Microsoft didn't offer any solutions for a fix besides trying to run the troubleshooter, which was completely useless. Is this a security issue? Is there a fix? If so, how can I fix it?1 person needs an answerI do too
