How do I disable DEP in windows 7
I'd like to disable DEP and all the annoying "do you want this program to run" needing administrative priv just to play a game. I'm not going to get malware, you need the internet for that, or to install malware containing software which I don't plan on doing any time soon. Besides, malware executes just fine with DEP enabled anyways, I've had my browser on my other machine hijacked several times, and viruses installed. Dep was enabled, so what good did it do? It's just an annoyance for me (Especially on my gaming machine) how do I do away with it? Thanks! :)

Is it DEP or UAC that you should be turning off? 1. Turn off UAC, go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > User Accounts > Change UAC settings and move the slider down. To turn it off completely, move it to the bottom and restart the computer. 2. Turn off DEP via an elevated Command Prompt by clicking the Windows Orb (Start) > All Programs > Accessories and right-click Command Prompt, then ‘Run as Administrator’. Type bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff (note the four spaces) and press Enter. To turn it back on, change AlwaysOff to AlwaysOn.

As Burr pointed out, I think you're referring to UAC and not DEP. Follow the first point (1) where Burr described how to turn off UAC and your system should not ask you for any more confirmations to run programs. Hope it helps!Kunal D Mehta - a Windows Server Enthusiast.
