How do I delete the operations that I do not want to start up in the start up tab of the system config screen.
When I uncheck the items I don't want, the next reboot forces me to do a Normal startup which loads evrything back up again.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi,If understand correctly you are tying to create a custom startup, by deselecting certain applications in the System Configuration Utility or MSCONFIG screen, via the startup tab. When you apply and OK your changes, these then are reset back to a normal startup again upon the next reboot. Can you confirm you have a user account with Administrator privileges. Is your PC in a Workgroup or Domain environment? Can you also confirm if the changes are saved after exiting and re-entering MSCONFIG, without the reboot?Do you get any Access Denied messages at any point?First of all, some applications can be set not to load at startup by their own preferences window, for example windows live messenger, so customising the startup may not be neccesary in all cases.Secondly before making changes to the startup selection, on the General tab, launch the System Restore utility andcreate a "restore point" in case your changes do save and cause load problems. You should also confirm you have adequate antivirus/antimalware protection so that you can be confident this is not caused by harmful software, as these can cause this type of symptom. Try an alternative online scanner to your existing AV, no one scanner catches everything.Let me know some more details on the above questions please. Many Thanks!
