Can any one tell the specific parameters to set in a GPO to make offline files sync from Windows 2008 file share to Windows 7. Trying to do this on the user redirected My Documents folder. \\server\share\%username%\my documents. Thanks for any instruction.

Hi, Thanks for the post. Please follow the steps below to create the policy. 1. Open Group Policy Management. 2. Create a GPO and linked it to the OU or domain which you want to set up Offline files. 3. Edit the GPO=>Navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files. 4. Enable Administratively assigned offline files policy. Note: If you enable this policy setting, the files you enter are always available offline to users of the computer. To specify a file or folder, click Show. In the Show Contents dialog box in the Value Name column, type the fully qualified UNC path to the file or folder. Leave the Value column field blank. that is exactly what I've tried. confirmed my unc path is correct and there are no ntfs permission problems. Tried both a path with variable (\\server\share\%username%\my documents) and standard unc (\\FQDMforserver\share\folder) The Group Policy Modeling report says the necessary GPO is being applied for the computer/user combination. Tried gpresult from the Win 7 workstation, but it only shows User Configuration and not Computer configuration related GPO. The Win 7 Sync Center says tha Offine Files is enabled. It will let me "sync now" but nothing is actually being synced as my Offline Files show the folder but no file contents. My Folder redirection for users My Documents is working fine (as long as I'm connected to the domain network). This problem is occuring on all Win 7 Pro laptops and for all windows users. I don't know how else to troubleshoot. Advise appreciated.

Hi, Please use gpupdate /force with elevated Command Prompt on all the Windows 7 clients. Then you may also use Resultant Set of Policy snap-in to check whether this kind of policy is applied to Windows 7 clients.
