How do I change a type PNG to a JPEG.
After the dealer downloaded my hard drive from my old computer to my new one (HP) I found a great many of my photos had the designation PNG on them. I learned these cannot be made into photographs, at least where I have been dealing for the past ten years, plus. I am faced with a great deal of work if I have to change them by scanning each photo to JPEG which seems to me to be my only way. I tried everything I could but no luck. I am limited when it comes to computers, quite limited. My uses are my phototgraphs and writing which up to now has not been any problem. I NEED HELP. Many thanks. K.

Try using Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/) which will allow you to select all your PNG files in the thumbnail view and convert them as batch to JPEG. There is aboslutely no need to rescan your originals.theWeissGuy

Just about any picture program (paint, paint shop pro, adobe photo shop) will open the pic. Then you can just save it as a jpeg. As theWeissGuy pointed out in his post there are also programs that will do all the pics all at once. I've will put a link to a program that I use. Good luck. http://www.design-lib.com/the_batch-png-to-jpg.php
