How do I autostart (at boot time) a .bat file with Admin privileges
I have a bat file that just does subst D: <some-folder> I need to run it when win7 machine boots up - twice - both as logged in user and Run-As-Admin. I don't mind having to click the UAC popup box [Yes] button If I only run as [logged in user] then the subst drive is invisible to any other process that was Run as Admin I tried simply putting shortcuts to bat file in Startup folder. The catch is - NOW PAY ATTENTION PLEASE - On mybatfile.bat properties > compatibility > Run as Administrator checkbox is disabled/greyed-out I tried (as other articles suggested) creating a shortcut - articles indicated that checkbox would not be greyed out on the shortcut ... but, for me, the Run As Administrator checkbox is disabled/greyed out on shortcut also If I right click on the bat file or shortcut I can Run-As-Administrator - but I want a way to do this automatically. Why is the checkbox greyed out? Why can't I enable it always with the checkbox?

P.S. Even though I'm in the Win 7 forum I should've explicitly said that I'm on Windows 7 Pro

Please create a task that can launch the file with administrator privilege.
