Hi, The software you referred to seems a spyware. Please Boot your computer into Safe Mode and then run your antivirus software on your computer to scan for and remove any possible Virus and Malware infections. Use all of the following programs to get rid of the rogue program you have in your computer. Malwarebytes : http://www.malwarebytes.org/ ..... pick the “ free version “ STOPZilla : http://www.stopzilla.com/products/stopzilla/home.do TDSSKiller : http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/TDSSKiller.shtml It is not redundant to use more than one program in order to remove a rogue program. Some rogue programs can be quite stubborn to be removed. Better be safe than be sorry. If it solves your problem, I did it. If it does not, my twin brother did it.

I just finished cleaning up a machine with this crap on it. It disabled everything on the machine so it was real hard to recover the client's files. MSE and the monthly tool saw nothing wrong even though SFC was tampered with as as MSCONFIG and CMD My MVP is for the Windows Desktop Experience, i.e. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT Remote Assistance is available for a fee. I have tried all of the listed suggestions to get "Vista Security 2011" off of my Windows Vista system (installed by HP). This problem started on 16 April 2011. I cannot use Internet Exporer. There is no file listed in the registry or System32 folders to indicate this virus/malware is in my software yet, it continues to pop up on a continual basis. If I perform a System Restore to a previous date (before 16 April 2011), will this be a possible fix (to get rid of the virus/malware)? Or, should I recover the OS, or simply upgrade to Windows 7? Thanks for your help.

Backup your files, then use the system recovery disks. Then use Ie9 which should be on Windows update by now. Or, should I recover the OS, or simply upgrade to Windows 7? Do none of the above. The virus is in the computer. Upgrading to Win7 will not remove the virus. >>>>I cannot use Internet Exporer. Find a friend with a computer > download the programs I gave you and burn them to a CD or flash drive > take it home and run all those 3 programs. If it solves your problem, I did it. If it does not, my twin brother did it.

As of today there is still no tool to remove the Total Security fakeware crap from computers. Its been around for about 9 months according for forum posts I have seen. do not give the miscreants any money, its a ruse to defraud payment does not remove the program or change its behaviour the DOJ is investigating the fraud angle however little is known as the miscreant developers are not apparently in the US Windows MVP 2010-11, XP, Vista, 7.
