How can we disable display of all account usernames on login screen in Windows 7
For security reasons I do not want the usernames displayed on the Windows 7 login screen. This appears to be the default. Have not been successful in finding a way to require users to enter their username and password, like in Windows XP (disable Welcome screen) or 2000 (default).

CVCStech,As DDOS_Evader says this is indeed a group policy that you can set.To be more specific the setting “Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name”You can find it in GPEdit.msc on the following location.Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\More info is aviable on:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc785301(WS.10).aspxKind RegardsDFTIM me - TWiTTer: @DFTER

You can also perform the steps below: 1. Go to Start, type run in the Search box and then press Enter. 2. In the Run box, type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotation marks) and then press Enter. 3. On the "Users" tab, check "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". 4. Click Apply. 5. On the "Advanced" tab, check "Require uses to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete" under "secure logon" section. 6. Click OK. Please check if this meet your needs. Regards, Linda
