How can apps be added to the AutoPlay list in Window 8.1?

How can apps be added to AutoPlay list in windows registry in 8.1? For some reason, when I insert a memory card with pictures on it in a card reader, AutoPlay normally appears but the program that I want to use for pictures isn't listed. How can I get Windows 8.1  to list the program I want to use?

Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately, as I know it is not possible to add a new program to Autoplay list.

The autoplay function is not a set of user defined choices, those are in the .inf and exe files of the individual plugnplay device. You could find them under registry which has a group of values created by software.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ AutoplayHandlers \ EventHandlers \ <Event Name>

Some third party program could add these entries for certain program so plugnplay device would play by these program as default, but it only applies to desktop program.
