How can I use my old user profile (or its settings) after a reinstall
On a recent startup I was informed my WindowsXP had a missing file, so I used the recovery disk to correct it. During the recovery it told me the problem was unfixable and so it reinstalled Windows. So far so good. I have taken ownership of my old files so I have access to my data HOWEVER all my old settings are in my old user profile. I can't even access the modem / internet / emails, etcI can't reinstall programme files as none of them work without the internet registration... Some of these programme files are essential and specialist programmes (e.g.composing tools, etc) - I have my datafiles but no way of using them!Is it possible to find a way to log-in to my old user profile via my reinstalled WindowsXP?
