How can I use and edit file properties such as Comments, Title, Keywords, Description, etc.?
In Windows Explorer, looking at a Details view of a list of files in a folder, I can see standard file properties (aka file details) such as Name, Date modified, Type, & Size, which are always populated. I can also select other Comments, Title, Keywords, Description, and many others, which are practically never populated. I would like to make use of some of these properties, but can't figure out how to get access to them. If I right-click on a file, select Properties, then select the Details tab, I get a small list of additional properties. But I can't change the list in any way or change any property values. Do I need to change a setting somewhere? Is there a tool that enables one to edit these properties? It seems odd that the file details can be seen but not populated. What am I missing here?

attrib is the command that you can use at command line. open cmd by going to start -> run -> type in cmd and press enter in there use attrib /? to find the all its options. don't forget to mark this as the answer if it does it for you! Hold on i think you're talking about music and video files/ Those are like ID v3 tags. or ID3. They can be changed usually with itunes and so on..... True, I could use attrib to set Read-only, Archive, System, Hidden, & "not content indexed" attributes. But how can I set Title, Comments, Description, Keywords, etc.?

that fish guy edited my post there was a program that can help you with that just search for modifing date. Anyway taht was all. Check out the id3 tags. And not all files have the ability to get comments and all the other attributes, but windows has to have the ability to organize the by the entire array of attributes, that is why you're seing them but not able to modify or add all of them. Only certain ones. Like I said, music files can. The Computer Manual Please do not forget to select the best answer if it helps you! Hi, you can add Title, Authors, Description by right click your file, click “Properties”, choose “Details”, and add Value of Title, Tags or Comments what you want. Hope it helps.
