How can I program a hot-key to operate at any time Windows 7 is open
You will have to use some third party program. I'm using Keepass a small freeware program that helps me log in to various web sites, domains and so on.

I would like to automate my email address as it is 30 characters long by utilising a hot-key for use whenever and wherever I am on the internet - i.e. logging on to sites, ordering goods, etc. Can it be done?

Thanks, Milos, for some awesome hot-keys but none answers my question. I want to program a hot-key to print out my email address wherever my cursor is.

Hello I am not aware of a way to complete this without using a third party tool. I would personally recommend AutoHotkey, It is a free open-source scritable automation utility for windows. I use a featuure in autohotkey called "hot strings" to automate updating tickets and entering information that is required in some day to day operations. Autohotkey is easy to pick up and very well documented. Although hotstrings are mainly used to expand abbreviations as you type them (auto-replace), they can also be used to launch any scripted action. In this respect, they are similar to hotkeys except that they are typically composed of more than one character (that is, a string). To define a hotstring, enclose the triggering abbreviation between pairs of colons as in this example: ::MyEmail::ReallyLongEmailAddress@Domain.com as long as the script is running in the System Tray, when ever you enter the hotstring, it will be replaced by your email address. http://www.autohotkey.com/ if you are looking at a online password manager, i would recommend lastpass over keepass.
