How can I print from my laptop without hooking up to the printer?
I have wireless internet and with my old laptop, I could print without hooking up to the printer. I had a techie who did this for me. I don't remember the process. Can anyone help?1 person needs an answerI do too

Your printer must be either connected to another PC (or a printer server) in the LAN or it must have built-in networking and be connected to the LAN. If the former, then the PC to which it is connected must share it and must be left on to make the printer available. The wireless PC should then be able to access the printer via sharing. If the latter, then the wireless PC can access the printer via a local TCP/IP port.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

do i have to share on both the computers? do they have to have the same name?

The printer is hooked up to my desktop. I have shared both computers and that hasn't worked. We did this with our old laptop, so I know it is possible :)
