How can I enable more information in the Recycle Bin Status Bar in Windows 7?
The Status Bar in Windows 7 Recycle Bin does not provide nearly as much information as it did in Windows XP. When I highlight multiple files in the recycle bin it does not indicate how much combined space they take up, not even if you select them all and right click on properties. You can do this in XP and it is very useful as it lets me make sure I have made enough room for my USB Key or music player or camera etc. or lets me make sure I have deleted the right combination of files as well as many other uses. How can I enable this? This comment has been mentioned before in June 2009 here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/8591ca36-3f9c-40e0-8248-f27109ee9228 but I don't see a response and obviously it was never fixed. The post in June 2009 states: "In Recycle Bin, viewing how much space I will gain after an Empty Recycle Bin operation is not possible. beginning with Vista because even Properties doesn't work for multiple selected items (the menu item is there but nothing happens). I have to manually add up sizes shown in the details view size column to calculate how much free space I'll gain after deleting Recycle Bin files." Thank you
