How can I download the Updates?
I work for the english education system, and due to limited funds we cannot purchase a Patch Download Manager. The workstations are secured to prevent student "changes" and we have also turned off automatic updates to reduce network trafffic etc.Currently, using XP, I act as a the download manager, and manually retieve the patches then install via a batch file at a convenient time.So far with Windows 7 RC, I can't find a method for simply obtaining the patches as per the standard approach for XP and Office 2003, 2007.Any suggestions?

Pete -There doesn't seem to be a link to download - other than the one for going to Windows Update... Do you not have an administrative account set up for these machines? If you do, it might be simplest to just download and install them by way of Windows Update. You might also try to "Run as Administrator" the Windows Updater front end. Right-click on the program listing in the Start menu and select Run as Admin. Not sure how well that would work - Unfortunately, I don't have any downloads pending to test this with.

Pete, The Windows Update Catalog seems to have Windows 7 updates listed on it. I was just now able to select an update and download it to my desktop with no problems. Let us know if you have problems with it...
