How can I disable or block my USB port to prevent access of removable devices?
Hello, I want to disable/block my USB port so that no one can insert any USB device such as Pendrive, USB flash drives etc. Is it possible to do so? Is it possible to password protect my USB port? Please help. thanks.1 person needs an answerI do too

The other easy way is to right click on my computer and go to propertise and then go to Hardware and then Device Manager. There look for USB and then right click on it and disable it.

Thanks for reply, I'll try this. I would be grateful if you provide me more help like this in a similar issue.Unlike USB ports, is it possible to block or password protect the CD/DVD drive? I know that it can be done by disabling the CD/DVD drive in the device manager, but that's not what I'm looking for. I need to block or password protect CD/DVD drive because I don't want anyone to put CD/DVD's in my computer without my permission. Is there any other way possible?Thanks.

The best practice is to put password in your PC and when someone want use it then allow to use using guest account. Because if you control USB and CD/DVD user might find another way such as downloading a program.I don't think you could do it with Windows XP other than disable driver , but they might be some third party software to do that.
