How can I disable Windows Security Alerts?
I am giving 2 computers as birthday gifts to 2 young grandchildren to be used for word processing and printing only. They have both been told by their parents that they will never be allowed to have computers in their bedrooms connected to the Internet. Both computers are running the Windows XP Pro version 2002 OS with Service Pack 3. It is annoying to have the "Your computer may be at risk....." warning pop up every time one of the computers is booted up, especially since closing the message does not always keep it from appearing again. Anyone have a solution for this problem? 1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi demckay7,If you are not going to connect the computer with the internet or any devices which might infect the computers, you may turn off the security alert temporarily. For more information, refer: How to Disable Security Center AlertsHowever, I would recommend you to install good security software on your computer andmake sure that you update the antivirus software frequently so that it works properly. You may also download & install Microsoft Security Essentials on your machine. Hope the information helps. Please post back and let us know.RegardsDebleena SMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
