How can I block people from logging onto my PC?
Whenever I reformat my PC's hard disk drive, during the moment at which I select a partition to which to add Windows XP, my PC displays a message about the fact that I will be adding Windows XP to a second apparently pre-existing operating system. Perhaps related to the above-described message is the fact that sometimes while I am turning off my PC, at the moment my PC is completely shutting down, my PC displays the following message: "Windows...Other people are logged on to this computer. Shutting down Windows might cause them to lose data. Do you want to continue shutting down?" and provides "Yes" and "No" buttons. My PC settings give me the impression that, by disallowing LAN, remote assistance, and shared file and printer connections, networking with my PC cannot happen. I, therefore, think that, with my current PC settings, I should be eliminating any possibility of networking with other computers. Could other people be logging into the second operating system? How can I block people from logging onto my PC?1 person needs an answerI do too

With the precautions that you've taken, I don't think that anyone is logging into your PC from the outside. That message means that another of your user accounts has logged in locally on your computer, and I've seen it sometimes when I'm sure that it isn't true.Boulder Computer Maven Microsoft Most Valuable Professional
