A System Image backup can take different amounts of time depending on how much data has been changed since the last backup, whether old shadow copies have to be deleted to make room, etc.  At the moment, I have a scheduled wbadmin command still running from my most recently scheduled backup (not alarming in itself).

With Windows 7's Windows Backup facility two different dialogs would give you a progress bar showing the percent completed (and thus giving you some idea how long it would be before the backup was finished).

I don't see an obvious way to gauge the current progress of the wbadmin command in Windows 8.1.  

The progress status displays seem to have gone the way of the Windows Backup GUI (God only knows why they would delete that).  But I may just not have poked around in the right places yet... 

I've tried to run System Image Backup from the File History control panel and all I get is:

I've tried looking in the Action Center, but it's blissfully unaware of Windows Backup now.

I've also tried looking in the log files in C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsBackup, but there's almost nothing there - just completion messages for the partitions that have been completely backed up already.

Has anyone here found a way to see the current backup progress?  If so, can you please advise how to see it?
