I Have just switched my clients to windows 7 on my domain. However I can't ping any windows 7 Machinces Is their a GPO I can use to open the firewall so they will respond? I also want the to respond to wmi requests

To allow ping by GPO: Policies -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> Network Connections -> Windows Firewall -> Domain Profile. Open the setting "Allow ICMP Exceptions" and enable "Allow inbound echo request". For remote access to WMI you need to enable the setting "Allow inbound remote administration exceptions" located the same place.

I Am able to Ping. Yes the issue is that I have is that none of the software i have can find the windows 7 machine on my domain. I'm wonder do I need to do something with WMI of the firewall so computer name appear
