Hotmail account blocked, I'm locked out, and no matter how gerd I try, I can't get back in.
After trying to log onto hotmail using my email address:Email removed for privacy, it sais that my account has been blocked because someone entered the incorrect password too many times.This seems absurd, because even if someone has tried to hack into my email account, they have failed, which is good, but bad at the same time. Bad because now my account is locked, and I cannot get back into it.I have lodged a forum on Windows Live Help Solution Centre, under the thread "Account Password Recovery - Email removed for privacy", but as of yet, have not heard anything back from it.If I log onto Windows Live Messenger, I get the error code: 80048823.Could someone who knows what they're doing please help me?! I've done what Hotmail apparently calls 'customer support', tried calling the Microsoft call centre, and tried various different ways of trying to get my account reinstated... Nothing has worked!Someone please help me. I'm desperate to get m account back, because it is essential for my communication and word commitments that I have this account up and running.Please, please, please and thank you.1 person needs an answerI do too

http://.login.live.com Enter email address and choose forgot password!https://account,live.com Enter email address and choose forgot password, if by any chance you get in, yes change password.Not sure these will work but worth a try. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply, but after having a try at both of those websites, and trying a number of times, the same response comes up:"This option is temporarily unavailable because incorrect information was entered too many times. Please try another reset option or try again later."I can only deduce that the reasons for this is that this person who desperately tried to get onto my account, and failed miserably, entered the incorrect password one too many times, and locked me out of my account.Is there any other way in which I can unlock my account?Is there any person I can talk to to help me reinstate my account?Is there anything that anyone can do to help me?Please.

To add to that, Outlook has just started saying:"We were unable to sign onto your account. Please try again. Too many unsuccessful sign-in attempts have been made using an incorrect password. Your account is temporarily unavaliable. Please try again later."Any thoughts?

Sometimes some email accounts are only temporarily locked for 24 hours, I am not sure about hotmail. Try again tomorrow, also if you get in tomorrow go to accounts and change your password and choose the option to have your password expire after a certain time. When accessing your email from a strange computer never check "remember my password" or" remember me on this computer".

Thank you fyip, that does explain a bit.When I sign onto an account I just created today (Email removed for privacy), and try and link my previous email (Email removed for privacy) to this one, it said:"This task is temporarily unavailable because an incorrect password was entered too many times. A temporary delay helps prevent people from trying to guess your password. Please try again later."Which tells me that it should be unlocked within a short period of time. But contrary to what you said, it has been almost 48hrs since I was last able to successfully sign on. And during that 48hrs, I have been desperatley trying to find out more information confirming that it will be unlocked soon.My main drama is that there is no useful information out there to read about this (other than other peoples forum posts), and there is no phone number for me to call to confirm with what's happening.Do you know anywhere I can go to get more info as to when (or, god forbit, if) I'll get my account back online?

Well if the account you created today is a hotmail you might be able to get more info from the account department. On the bottom right corner your hotmail page is the help center. Your ISP should help you also.

I have. I posted a thread on that forum first (look at my first post here), and they still havnt got back to me yet. It's just sitting there collecting dust.It's been almost 2 nd a half days since I was last able to sign on, and still nothing. I need access to my emails again.
