What do you mean with both systems see the other? Are you able to ping them from each other?
Go to the both computers and check these:
1. From the computer management enable the guest user.
2. Type in the Run: gpedit.msc in order to open local Group Policy Editor. Then through this path: computer configuration>Windows Settings>Security Settings>Local Policies>User Right Assignment, and from the right side of the page open Deny
Access to this computer from the Network. If was guest on it, remove it.
3. Create a folder on desktop, right click on it and go to properties, on the sharing tab click Advanced Sharing. Check Share this Folder and click Permissions. Check the Full Control under Allow. Click Ok, and Ok again. Go to the Security
Tab and click Advanced. Click on Change Permissions, Click Add and Type Everyone in the field and click Ok. Check the Full Control under Allow and Ok. Check Replace all child object permissions , then close all forms with Ok.
Then on the each of them you can type //ip address or //computer name of another one in the Run then use that shared folder to transfer files.
