Homegroup Unstable
I am running Windows 7 pro on three computers and can't get HomeGroups to operate reliably on all three computers. They all have Ivp6 enabled. They all have the network idendifed as a Home NetworkThey are all connected to the same D-Link Switch two wired one wirelessPrior to adding the Desktop the two notebooks had HomeGroups running for months no problemI have tried most of the suggestion on this forum for correcting the problem including the Net Stop p2pimsvr and clearing filesThe only difference I can see in the network setup of the 3 computer is that the two notebooks show they are currently connected to a home network called altonWhile the desktop computer indicates it is connected to a home network called NetworkThe present situation is as followsSet up HomeGroup on Computer A (notebook wired connection)Joined HomeGroup on Computer B (notebook wireless connection)Checked homegroup and A could see B and B could see AJoined HomeGroup on Computer C (desktop wired connection)Checked homegroup C could see B but not A, A could see B but not A, and B could see both A and CShut down and restarted all computers At start up A could not see any computers and C could not see any computers (B was not on yet).Started B, B could not see any computers but both A and C could see B but not one anotherRan Homegroup diagnostics on BAfter disgnostics completed B could see A and C but both disaparred after about 30 secondsPresently A sees B not C; C sees B not A; but B reports there are no other Homegroup computers on the networkAt this point I don't know were to search for the problem

Hello,My suggestions: 1. In Computer A, turn off Windows firewall and third-party security program.2. In Computer B,C boot the computers to clean boot mode to determine if the problem is caused by background programs.3. Turn off IP V6 in all the computers.4. Set a static IP address for all computers.5. If it's possible, use another router and see if the issue persists.Thomas77
