Homegroup Question
I have a homegroup setup at my house on my desktop. Three of my roommates have laptops that we are trying to connect to the network. We are able to successfully connect 2 of the 3 laptops.. However, the third laptop keeps saying that the password is incorrect for the homegroup. Does anyone have any clue as to what the problem would be here?

Two basics to check: 1. Make sure he doesn't have his CAPS LOCK key on. 2. Make sure he doesn't have his NUM LOCK key on - most laptops overlay the numeric keypad with the regular keys so with NUM LOCK on he may think he's typing an "H" but he's actually typing a "6". You may mistype or happen to change the password. Please take Ben M.Schorr's suggestion to re-enter the password and see if it is resolved. Otherwise, please open HomeGroup in Control Panel on a computer of your roomate to view or print the homegroup password. Moreover, the homegroup password might have been changed on a computer that was then immediately turned off or went into a state of sleep or hibernation, but the new password wasn't immediately entered on the other computers in the homegroup. If this is the case, the new password won't be recognized on the other homegroup computers. To fix this problem, turn on the computer where the password was changed, and then enter the new password on the other computers. Dale
