Homegroup
I have a Gateway Laptop bought with Vista and upgraded to Win 7. I purchased a Dell Inspirion Desktop 545s with Win 7. The PC is attached to my Linksys WRT54G using a cable. The Laptop is attached wirelessly. If I set up a homegroup using the PC, the Laptop finds it and I can join the homegroup. Files I select for sharing on the PC are available on the Laptop. When selecting homegroup on the PC, it can't find the Laptop. The Laptop shows up on the Network Map on the PC.

Hi,Please follow the tips to check if you turn on the following items:1)Click Start and open Control Panel.2)Open "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Advanced sharing settings".3) Expand the current network profile (such as "Home or Work"), and then select the following options:"Turn on Network Discovery", "Turn on file and printer sharing","Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the Public folders", "Turn off password protected sharing"Moreover, make sure that the PC and Laptop are both set to Home Network and enable IPv6. If the issue persists, try to access each other by typing\\computername in the Start Search box.BTW, how about connecting the laptop by lan? Best RegardsDale
