XP Home enforces "Simple File Sharing" and will not permit network username/password authentication -- everyone authenticates as user "Guest".XP Pro allows username/password authentication if Simple File Sharing is turned off. See the following KB article for instructions:"How to disable simple file sharing and how to set permissions on a shared folder in Windows XP"< http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307874/en-us >In a typical home network sharing situation behind a router, nothing goes out to the internet unless the source or destination is on the internet. Sharing between local computers behind internet router is strictly local.HTH, JW
