Home Media Server
I've built a pc for use as a media server. I purchased and installed Windows 7 and began to install the trial version of Windows Home Server when a message popped up saying that Windows 7 would be wiped from the installation along with anything else
installed. What happens to Windows 7 after installing Windows Home Server?

Windows Home Server uses the entire system. You cannot have Win 7 and WHS on the same system - one or the other, but not both.
WHS is a mini network server configured for home use. So, if you install WHS there will be no Win 7 on the system.

Hi,
Please understand that this is Windows 7 Forum
while this issue is more Windows Home Server related. In order to get the answer effectively, it is recommended that you post a new thread in
Windows Home Server Forum.
Personally, I would like to say that the New Installation option will wipe out all drives including drives where your backups and shares reside. Please
be sure to backup any critical data off of your Windows Home Server installations
prior. Also, you may try to create a dual-boot system by installing the Windows Home Server to another partition, if the computer has more than one partition.
Regards,
Sabrina
