HomeGroup between home network subnets?
Hello, I have two subnets on my home network...the main wired network on 192.168.4.x, on which sits my wireless router (192.168.4.40), and the wireless router provides access to my various wireless devices on 192.168.1.x. The wireless router has been opened up to allow any inside traffic (wireless devices) to talk to all devices on my wired network (outside traffic) and visa-versa. I can browse between wired and wireless computers, in both directions, by typing in \\192.168.4.x\share or 192.168.1.x\share - so I know all connectivity is there. But how can I setup HomeGroup between my wireless and wired computers? Currently I have a HomeGroup between two wireless laptops on the 192.168.1.x subnet, but I am getting ready to upgrade to Win7 on 3 desktops on the wired 192.168.4.x subnet - and when I do, how will be I be able to extend the HomeGroup between the two subnets? Thank you, -Russel

Hi Russel, You can create the Homegroup between two wireless laptops. However, please understand only the computers in one subnet can join the same Homegroup. In your situation, three desktop can create another Homegroup. If you want to archive this, you may need two network card and bridge the two cards.
