HomeGroup Unreliable - Doing Flip Flops
I have two drives for my Dell D620 so I sort of have the ultimate dual-boot setup. One drive has Win XP and it works flawlessly every time I boot up with it. The other has Win 7. Sometimes, Win 7 powers up just fine. At other times it simply refuses to connect to my 2Wire DSL wifi router. it will remain in Local-only mode no matter how many times I attempt to "fix " the connection. I tries PUBLIC, PRIVATE, etc. setting. I've disabled Power Management options and IP V 6 with no success. Two days later I might try again and it will work fine, only to fail again the following day.WHat am I missing? the XP disk always runs just fine.

Have you tried manually assigning your IP address in Windows 7? There might be a problem with your router assigning addresses via DHCP to your Windows 7.
