Hiding Contacts from Lync Server 2013 Address Book not working

Hello All,

I  am trying to hide 2 contacts from the Lync serve AB but can't make it work.

I was following

http://www.justin-morris.net/how-to-hide-users-from-the-lync-address-book/

Environment: Lync 2013 FE pool which consists of 1 servers since it's  test environment. I am using the  following attribute to filter. Have populated this info to the user AD account

ABS Configuration Tool: added and enabled that attribute. Initially, I didn't select any parameter for "OC Field Name" but I later I set "Description" as the parameter.

I have restarted the RTCSRV services, ran update-csuserdatabase and then after waiting a while ran update-csaddressbook. Deleted another test  user's GAL contact DBs to force a redownload of the updated AB files but no success. I still can see the contacts in GAL.

Can anyone please give some light on this issue. I am not sure if that "OC Field Name" has something to do with the issue?

Any help will be appreciated.

Regards,

Imrul

Hi lmrul Emon,

You may execute the following command and then check the result.

Debug-CsAddressBookReplication -User "sip:User1@Contoso.com" VerifyReplication

In addition, please connect to the Back End and then check if the extensionattribute was replicated in the AbAttribute table correctly.

Note: If the user knows the SIP URI he can add the other user because SIP URI search is not administered by the address book.

Best regards,

Eric
