Hide all wireless networks except preconfigured approved ones in windows xp
Ok so basically I am looking to creating connections to certain wireless access point but I want to make it so that no other access points that are not already configured are not shown by windows. This is simple to do under vista and Windows 7 via the netsh command or if the computers in question were attached to a domain but this is not possible for my configuration. The machines are standalone workstation used in mobile trucks that have their own hotspots and windows xp keeps attempting to grab other access points, I do not want the users to even see tham listed if possible, only the ones that have been already configured for them since they take their laptops out of their cars and use then in the company buildings as well. Since this is possible via group policies there must be at least some registry keys or something I can use to manually lock this down even if Microsoft does not provide and official way of doing this. I have searched extensively and nobody seems to know how to do this specific thing without using server 2003 or newer policies which are not an option for me.1 person got this answerI do too
