Hidden Hardware Under My Computer
Hello Guys! I have a quick question that I hope someone can answer because I am going crazy here. I just brought a new Asus laptop to replace my Sony Vaio after 3.5 yrs of 24/7 useage. On the Vaio I installed Windows 7 Pro from my college. Some time while I was first using it, I was given a prompt to show all hidden items under My Computer. So under Computer there are the ghosted memory card slots. I can't seem to find how to do this on the ASUS. I've searched high and low for this, and have come up short. Does anyone know how to manually do this? Thank You for Your Time, Julius

Control Panel > Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices."I think there is a world market for maybe five computers. (Thomas J. Watson, Sr.)

No, I'm sorry, but that's not what I am talking about. I know how to make devices under device manager viewable. I am talking about when you click on computer, and is shows your hard drive, dvd drive, etc. There is a way to have it show the other devices with no media plugged in, and the icon will be ghosted there.

Is this the option you are looking for? Within explorer, click organise>folder and search options>view and uncheck hide empty drives.
