Hibernation not working
Hello. I've got a strange hibernation problem. I've had lots of them in the past, but this one is different. I put my PC to hibernation. Screen turns off, HDD starts working actively, but then after few minutes, or even less - Monitor turns back on, and nothing happens. To clarify - PC does NOT shut down. If I put it to hibernation again - time between monitor coming OFF and ON - shortens, it may be just few seconds now. Are there any logs that I can check to identify the problem maybe? System: Windows 7 Ultimate ENG x64 Asus P5Q MB Intel C2D E8500 Asus VW222U Monitor I have Asus software installed: EPU 6-engine and others, but I never had such problem before.

Hi, According to your description, I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue: 1 Logon with Safe Mode or Clean Boot to see if the same issue occurs. 2 Update some hardware drivers (network card, VGA card), also update BIOS to the latest version. By the way, did this issue appear before? Try to use system restore for test. Hope that helps. 1. Can I put PC to Hibernation from Safe Mode? 2. All drivers and BIOS are up to date. I always update them as soon as new version is available. Such an issue did not appear before. I had problems that PC would boot up few seconds after it went to hibernation, but it was due to some scheduled stuff....

Try looking at your manufacturer / motherboard makers website and see if there are any updated drivers - especially if the machine was not shipped with Windows 7 as this could be a bug or a feature that requires something extra. Also check the BIOS to make sure it is fully supported / configured as sometimes there is an option that needs to be set.Windows 7
