Funny you should bring this up. I was just thinking about it yesterday. It does seem incosistent that Explorer does not have this useful featurelike IE explore, and a lot of other Microsoft apps. But that isn't the only thing wrong about Explorer. The behavior of the navigation pane is dismal.

totally man.. I mean thenavigation panewont even auto scroll like it did invista CS - Actually... You can make the left pane keep up with the right. Here's how:1.) Press Alt - click on Tools | Folder Options2.) On the General tab, there are three sections. The 3rd section - Navigation Pane - has two items. Make sure both are checked.3.) Click Ok... Restart Windows Explorer.Everything will now be in sync. But tabs.. Ok.. Might be useful... Especially if you're copying stuff back and forth..

I have tried this, and I see no change. When I move the focus on the left, using the arrow keys, the right side does not change.

Before addin tabs or any thing else I think MS should concentrated in put back all the features Explorer used to have and now are removed. To say it right, I think if the thing keeps going the way it is, MS will end up adding tabs to explorer... but removing something less important, like, I dont know, the ability to work with files, or acess hard drives, something like this. It is only what is left to be taken away...... sad...

bnborg - Youhave to selecta folder by pressing Enter before it updates on the right. Sometimes that can be a blessing - like if you've got a folder that's got say, a few hundred thousand odd files and takes a several minutes to load and you want to go past that folder without wasting a bunch of time waiting for the folder's contents to get loaded.

My point exactly. This is not what I call syncronization, and does not present a consistent user interface.Other Windows applications, such as mmc.exe and regedit.exe, still keep the right hand pane in sync with the focus on the left.
