Help with Port-Forwarding
I need help port-forwarding on Windows 7. My router is a Linksys WRTP54G. I need help port-forwarding ports: "8484,7575,7576,3306". I have already done the following: All ports have been double-checked. All firewalls/anti-viruses are allowing these ports to pass and are disabled. I have a static IP set-up,etc. Port 80 is working but ports 8484,7575,7576,3306 aren't. I have also done the following: http://forum.portforward.com/YaBB.cgi?num=1278877174

Are you sure that the Windows 7 computer is listening on those ports? You can use the "netstat /a" command to verify. In addition, if you want to check to see if the traffic is getting through your NAT/router, you can run a Network Capture on the private side of the router to look at the packets. You can use Network Monitor, Wireshark, etc... Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.

If you created the forwarding rules on your NAT/Router and the Windows 7 computer is listenting, then there is nothing else that needs to be configured. If it is not working, refer back to my earlier post for troubleshooting. You may have to use packet capturing software to validate that the packets are indeed reaching the private side of your network. If you see the packets, but nothing is happening on the Windows 7 box, your focus should remain on the Windows 7 computer. If you do not see the packets, then your focus should remain on the router until the packets actually make it accross. If the NAT/router and Windows 7 computer is properly configured, you can test connectivity from an internet computer by using the TELNET protocol and have the TELNET command make the connection on ports 8484,7575,7576,3306. You can tell if the internet computer makes a connection because you will see a blinking cursor on the screen. From the internet computer, open a command prompt, type telnet public_NAT_IP_address 8484 telnet public_NAT_IP_address 7575 telnet public_NAT_IP_address 7576 telnet public_NAT_IP_address 3306 Each of these commands should result in a blinking cursor on the screen.
