Help with Netgear WG111v2
Okay. So I upgraded From XP to Vista due to some technical problems. I had My netgear WG111v2 Wireless USB adaptor hooked up and working perfectly on XP. Anyway, I downloaded the most recent driver for the WG111v2 and I plug it in and It asks me which service I would like to use. I've tried both. Both times, it would connect fine to the Netgear Wireless assistant but not to the WIFI manager. Occasionally, it would show unidentified network or Limited or no Connectivity. I've tried disabling the WIFI manager but that sends both applications offline. Its frustrating. Can anyone help. Thank you. :)

I use the same USB adapter occasionally myself, a Netgear WG111T. It works fine with Vista - too easy.I keep the software on my PC called 'wg111t_2_1_setup.exe'.Install this first. Then plug in the USB adapter. Vista will find and install the drivers.Disregard the Netgear Utility. Close it out & use Vista's Network & Sharing Center.Connect to a Network should find the router and you're off and running. You mmight need to uninstall everything and start over.If you don't see a network available to connect to - you have a router problem. Give Verizon a call.PS - If you're hardwired to your router make sure that you at least disconnect that cable before trying to go wireless.

Hi, Thank you for your posts. Please also try the following: WG111v2 Version 3.4.0 (supports Vista) http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/713/related/1 Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. If it is possible, please disable NETGEAR wireless network management utility and just use the Windows built-in feature and see how it works. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
