Help With Making Macro For A Key With InteliType Pro?
Hi all, Ok i need some help. i have a Microsoft keyboard that has 3 custom keys on it. i have installed the latest InteliType Pro driver. when i go to control panel and go to keyboard, there is a tab that says Key Settings. when i go to that there is a section called Key Settings List. there it list some keys that have macros such as key 1 (the first of the 3 keys i can add a macro to) it says it will go back a page in web browsers if i press that key. but in this list it only shows the 3 keys that i can add macros to. i want to add macros to other keys such as my number pad keys (as i use the numbers on the top line of the keyboard). is there a way i can get other keys to show in this list or is there a program i can use to map macros to keys. i have tried other programs but they are too confusing to use. for example the macros i want to make a for games, such as in skyrim i want a macro that will open the command console and enter a command then exit. the command console in skyrim is oppend with the ` key. so for an example if i were in skyrim and i typed this with my keyboard `player.placeatme 1068fe 20 (press enter key here)` that code would open the command console and put a code in (to spawn 20 bandits) and then close the command console. i have mapped my first macro key to this command. so when i press key 1 20 bandits will spawn around me. the entering of a macro in the InteliType Pro is really eays i just lick on the key i want to add or change a macro to and press assign/manage macro. then a box loads and asks for me to name the macro then there is a box i can click in and type the command i want to use then i just click save and the rest is taken care of automatically. so can anyone help me on how i can add macros to my number pad keys so i can map more commands. ps sorry if i have posted this in the wrong place as this is my first post and i was not sure what category this belongs to so i have placed it here as im running windows 7.

I don't know of any way to add keys to the existing list in Intellitype, right off hand. You need the SideWinder x4 keyboard (the one I have); that way, you'll have 18 macro keys total. You can assign any of the three banks to different games or applications, however you want to set it up. There are a number of key mapping programs (as I'm sure you've seen in your searches), but I don't recall seeing any that allow the remapping to macros. Even Microsoft has one: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/goglobal/bb964665.aspx There are a number of hits on "adding new keys in IntelliType" using Google: https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=adding+new+keys+in+intellitype&oq=adding+new+keys+in+intellitype&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_l=hp.3...1609.13078.0.13687.30.28.0.2.2.0.422.3267.14j13j4-1.28.0...0.0.sCViasaXdOY&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=e450706fd6e66627&biw=1429&bih=772 including this one: http://xahlee.org/emacs/ms_keyboard/intellitype_rigistry.html If you're feeling brave, you might try that method. Just be sure to have a back-up of the registry before messing with it. Don't want to turn your PC into a paperweight :-( SC Tom

You're welcome! I really like mine. I've had it a little over a year now and find it to be rock solid! I had one group of macros for CoD:MW2, and still have a set that I use for email and my newsreader, plus a couple of utility programs. The macros really are simple to create, and just as simple to edit. SC Tom
