Hello! Have been scouring the net for solutions. Tried all the fixes suggested to no avail! Please help! I'm trying not to do a clean install. Thanks in advance! Fixes attempted: - System Restore - Services.msc to look at BITS and windows update - Looking at registry keys - Microsoft Fixit - Deleting edb.logs - Renaming SoftwareDistribution files Description of Problem: After going to Control Panel and clicking on Windows Update, it will just show that loading circle for a few minutes. Then, this is what it shows: Tried running services.msc and it showed 'Wuauserv' <Failed to Read Description. Error Code:193>. Attempts to start it shows following error - Windows could not start the wuauserv service on Local Computer.
