Having to use FQDN for login scripts
We have had issues with some users when switching from XP to Windows 7 and drives mapped with a login script. Some users are no longer able to access the drives or they keep disconnecting. We have found if we use FQDN names for the mappings that the issues go away. Also tried this Fix-it http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297684 but it didn't always work. I have not found anything on why this is an issue with Windows 7 and why using FQDN fixes this issue. Any ideas as to why?

1. If only part of users have this problem, then it is not systematic error. 2. Where have you found that FQDN solves your problem? Does this really helped? 3. More important parameter is /persistent:yes 4. Wait for network setting in group policy may help to resolve the problem with sharing in user logon. 5. Because of many problem with mapping, I use script, that is sitting on users desktop explorer \\server\share pause Network share lives until I close Windows Explorer. Regards Milos
